Think Digital

Harnessing your Pixel Power

Following on from their excellent Think Digital resource pack launched in 2006, MLA East of England now have more ways to help museums, libraries and archives join the digital world that little bit easier.

Who can benefit?
All museums, archives and libraries, big or small, can benefit from the digital revolution.  Capturing high quality images is an opportunity and a possibility for everyone, not just those bigger organisations with trained staff.  The MLA East of England team is offering FREE training and support to help get you started.

What's On Offer

  • Freelance specialists: photographers and digital experts to work with you for a day to take high quality images, scan in photographs and provide guidance on how you can go about taking images yourself.
  • Training workshops: series of practical workshops on how to take high quality digital images, manipulate them ofr use on your website or marketing material and then how to store and record them effectively.  There will be plenty of opportunity to share best practice and discuss ideas and challenges.
  • Experts on hand: if you prefer to tap into the expertise of local professional staff with knowledge of capturing digital images?  We can help here too.  In each county, we are identifying digital specialists to help you.  They may also be able to access equipment from larger organisations or assist you in using your own equipment more effectively.  Advice will also be offered on how to go about a digitisation project.
