Cultural Foundation Degree

Foundation Degree in Cultural Services gets the go ahead!!

MLA East of England is delighted to announce that a new Cultural Services Foundation degree for museums, libraries and archives in the East of England has been approved for validation and can start in September 2008. MLA East of England has been working in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University and sector employers to develop this new vocational qualification which aims to::

support skills development and career progression
provide opportunities to train on the job
encourage new entry routes into the sector that are accessible to a wide range of applicants.

The validation came with a commendation for being a ‘model of good practice in partnership working and employer engagement’.

The initiative was developed with funding from MOVE (the Lifelong Learning Network for the region) and Foundation Degree Forward.
