Traditional Skills
Traditional Skills are key to safeguarding our cultural heritage. The passing on of traditional skils has largely died out and there is a growing concern that the loss of these skills is beginning to impact on the ability of museums to care for their objects and buildings.
The East of England has an especially rich culture and heritage related to its natural rural and maritime environment. The ongoing sustainability, management and care of the related historic collections depends on the professionals and volunteers being able to draw on the vital sources of knowledge and understanding fromt hose who know how these collections work and are conserved.
