ReadEastReadEast

ReadEast, the reader development network for the eastern region, was established under the wing of Eastern Society of Chief Librarians (SCL) in the last millennium and it is constantly being refreshed by the changing representation from its membership.  The ReadEast Partnership aims to expand opportunities through libraries in the Eastern region, for self development and lifelong learning through the enjoyment of reading.  ReadEast would be delighted to work with any similar regional networks to share different ideas as opportunities arise, and would welcome guests to our quarterly meetings or share information in other ways.

About the strategy

The ReadEast reader development strategy is supplemented by a three year rolling action plan which has enabled ReadEast to develop contacts with publishers, small presses and Literature Development Officers to devise promotions and activities, and put together a varied programme of regional training and conferences to share experience across the 10 authority members.
